《Breaking the Guardian's Curse 》Chapter Fourteen
The queen summoned Chloe and Xenia into her chamber. She was packing some clothes for the Prince when they both came in.
"You summoned me, your majesty." They both said in unison.
"Yes." She turned to look at them while giving each of them some clothes. "I am sure my son wouldn't want to be known as a prince in the other world that's why I got them these clothes. They are in the secret chamber getting ready, can you ladies please get these clothes across to them?"
They collected the clothes from her. "We will do as directed, your majesty." They bowed their heads and left the room.
Outside the palace, Chloe was smiling like someone who had just won a lottery. "I can't wait to put this on Lucas." She danced and twirled while Xenia looked at her in disbelief.
"It still surprises me how you throw yourself around men and still be proud of it."
Chloe turned to look at her. "What did you say?"
"You heard me. Do you have any shame?"
"Listen to me, Zenia, and whatsoever you are called, Lucas is going to be mine no matter what you or anyone say or do."
"Do I look like I compete with you? Am just saying..."
"Keep your opinion to yourself."
Xenia decided to shut up. They arrived at the secret chamber.
The Prince and Lucas were inside, packing some things that they would need when they heard a knock on the door.
"Are you expecting anyone?" Lucas asked the Prince.
The Prince shook his head while Lucas went to open the door and he was surprised to see Xenia and Chloe standing there with some clothes in their hands. Lucas looked at Chloe then at Xenia where it lingered for a long time. She had to look away so he can look away but her eyes caught those of Chloe and she could see jealousy and rage in her eyes.
"Will you let us in?" Chloe asked Lucas.
"Sure." He opened the door wide for them to come in.
"Greetings your highness, the Queen..."
"Greetings to you, your handsomeness. Your mother the queen has sent us to you to give you both these clothes for your journey." Chloe cuts in while giving smiling wickedly at Xenia.
Xenia swallowed back her words. Truth be told, she was embarrassed but Chloe didn't give two shits about how she was feeling.
"Would you like us to put it on you?"
The prince looked at his hands and they were dirty. "Yes."
In a flash, Chloe ran to meet Lucas. Everyone was shocked. Xenia walked up to the Prince and she pulled off his shirt. She was surprised to see how bodily built the Prince. She couldn't stop the gasp that escaped her lips.
Lucas couldn't take his eyes off her even when Chloe was trying to seduce him, his gaze was firmly fixed on Xenia. How he wishes it was she in front of him right now and not Chloe.
After Xenia was done fixing the Prince's shirt, she was about to wear him his trouser when Lucas coughed out.
The Prince and Xenia looked at him at the same time. "Are you okay?" the prince asked trying to hide his smile. He knew Lucas had a string of affection for Xenia and he was loving seeing him act this way.
"Yeah, I am good."
Xenia ignored him and went back to what she was doing but the continuous cough from Lucas stopped her.
"You know what, Chloe... Come and finish dressing me up and Xenia you can go to Lucas."
"But your highness..."
The prince looked at Chloe before she could give further excuses.
"As you wish, your highness." Xenia left the Prince's clothes for Chloe and went to meet Lucas who was smiling at her but she didn't look up at him.
She noticed that his shirt hasn't been buttoned either. What the hell has Chloe been doing? Gawking at his body?
She buttoned his shirt and when she got to the top button, her eyes met his and he smiled at her but she looked away, hiding her smile. "Are you shy?" he whispered to her.
Xenia looked at him for a few seconds before looking away. That was enough to prove she wasn't shy. "Then why aren't you saying anything?"
Can't this guy just shut up and let me finish buttoning up his shirt? Does he know how hard it is for me to concentrate on fixing the button on each buttonhole? Her mind screamed but she shook her head, trying to get rid of those thoughts.
She helped him with his trousers and when she was about to fix his zipper and belt, she paused. "I am going to leave you to do this yourself." She wanted to leave when Lucas grabbed her.
"I am too lazy to fix it."
Xenia stared at him and that was enough to get Lucas to zip his trouser and fix his belt. "Better."
The Prince couldn't stop smiling and Chloe couldn't stop getting mad as she watched the scene. This should have been her and not Xenia. She can't wait to get rid of her. If she knew Xenia was going to be this much of a threat to her, she would have gotten rid of her before she got to this point.
"That'd be all, your highness," Xenia said as she bowed her head.
"Thank you." The prince extends his gratitude to Chloe as well even though he could tell she was furious.
They were about to leave when Lucas called Xenia. He walked up to her when she turned to face him. "It's nothing, I just wanted to see your face one last time before I leave." He lied.
"Safe journey." Xenia bade them goodbye before leaving the room.
"Why do I feel you like her?" Prince Edward asked.
"No, I don't. I mean I like her as a person but as a girl I love, I don't think so."
"You don't think so? Not that you don't want it."
Lucas looked at the Prince before the prince raised his hands in surrender.
There was a knock again at the door and this time it was Kim. "What is it?"
"It is time. The guardians are here." Kim answered while the Prince and Lucas carried everything they needed and left the secret chamber to meet the guardians.
